Appraisal FAQ
What is the difference between fair market value and replacement value?
Fair market value is what a willing buyer would pay a willing seller, used for estates, divorce and donations. Replacement value is what it would cost to replace the item at retail, used for insurance. We prepare the correct value for your purpose.
Are your appraisals accepted by courts and insurers?
Yes. Every appraisal is prepared to USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice) standards, and our reports are routinely accepted by courts, insurance companies, attorneys and financial institutions.
Do you come to my home, or do I need to bring my jewelry somewhere?
We always come to you. Our mobile gem lab travels to your home, workplace or bank vault anywhere in South Florida, fully equipped with the same G.I.A.-grade testing equipment we use for every appraisal.
How long does an appraisal take?
Most appraisals are completed within a few business days of your appointment. Rush turnaround is available for time-sensitive legal or insurance deadlines, just ask when you schedule.
