Every Piece an Estate Inventory Needs Valued
Jewelry is often the most valuable and least documented asset in an estate. We value it, document it and keep it secure until it is distributed.
Date-of-Death Valuations
Fair market value as of the decedent's date of death, for the inventory, estate tax filings and basis documentation.
Distribution Among Heirs
Itemized, photographed appraisals so personal representatives can divide jewelry fairly or buy out a beneficiary at a supportable number.
Safe Deposit and Home Inventories
We come to the home, the bank or the attorney office and inventory pieces on site, so nothing leaves the family possession.
Insurance and Sale Support
Replacement-value documentation for coverage during administration, and a private buyer option when the estate chooses to sell.
Built for How Probate Practice Actually Runs
Court-Ready Documentation
Written reports prepared for the inventory, the estate tax return and any contested distribution, with photographs and methodology.
The Right Standard of Value
Date-of-death fair market value for the inventory, and replacement value when the estate needs coverage. Every report states which one applies.
Turnaround You Can Plan Around
Most reports are complete within days of the examination, and faster when a hearing or filing deadline is close.
Expert Testimony & Deposition
Available when a beneficiary disputes a value or a sale price, and able to explain the methodology to the court.

Attorney & Fiduciary FAQ
Do you value jewelry as of the date of death?
Yes. Date-of-death fair market value is the standard for the inventory and for estate tax purposes. We document the piece, the market data and the method behind the number.
Can you appraise items still in a safe deposit box or the decedent home?
Yes. We come to the home, the bank or your office. Pieces stay where they are during the examination, and we coordinate access with the personal representative.
How do you handle heirs who disagree on value?
A written, itemized appraisal with photographs gives everyone the same number and the reasoning behind it. Jon can also explain the methodology if a value is contested.
Can the estate also sell the jewelry?
Yes, if the personal representative decides to sell. Jon buys privately and the appraisal on file supports the price. There is no obligation to sell.
Do you work directly with attorneys and personal representatives?
Yes. We work with probate attorneys, trustees, personal representatives and CPAs, and with the family directly when that is easier. Reports and communication go through your office when you prefer.
